Trial set for men accused of killing Ft.Benning Contractor - WLTZ 38 | Columbus Georgia Regional News & Community

Staff Reports (Columbus, GA) Two Columbus men charged with the shooting death of a Fort Benning contractor now have a trial date.

Dominique Lowe and Calvin Denson appeared in Judge John Allen's court room charged with murder in the death of Julian Hernandez.

According to Columbus police Lowe and Denson went to a hotel on September 9th looking to sell some drugs.

But police say the deal went south when Denson allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire after struggling with the victim, Hernandez.

During today's proceedings Judge Allen set the trial for April 1st.

Each suspect faces charges of malice murder, felony murder and armed robbery.
