Staff Reports- Alabama ranks as the second most religious state in the U.S.
According to a new survey by Gallup, over half of Alabamians consider themselves "very religious" saying religion is a very important part of daily life, and claim to attend religious services almost every week.
And to many, that doesn't come as a surprise.
"We went to church on Sunday here and the church was full and had several services" "there's a sense of community in this area and a strong sense of community is usually supported through church going and many other things but religion would definitely be one of them"
On the other end of the spectrum Vermont was the least religious in 2012, as were many of their New England neighbors.
Gallup's "State of The States" series shows state by state differences on political, economic, and well being issues.
