TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — A University of Alabama student suspected of robbing two other students has asked a judge for permission to go home to Florida.
University of Alabama wide receiver Eddie Lee Williams was freed on bond after being charged with two counts of robbery and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Josh Swords, his attorney, filed a motion Thursday in Tuscaloosa District Court asking a judge to grant 20-year-old Williams permission to go home to Panama City, Fla. Swords says he would be in his mother's custody.
Williams and other players — D.J. Pettway, Tyler Hayes and Brent Calloway — are suspected of attacking two students and stealing a laptop, wallets and cash early Monday morning.
It is unclear if the other players have lawyers.
