COLUMBUS, GA - Two Columbus men could spend the rest of their lives behind bars because of their extensive criminal records.

46-year-old Jason Scott Carney and 35-year-old Russell Scott Delevie pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon in unrelated incidents.

Both men have five previous felony convictions for crimes like aggravated stalking and burglary.

Under the Armed Career Criminal Act of 1984, both men face a minimum sentence of 15 years and maximum of life, because they possessed a firearm after being convicted of three or more violent felonies or drug charges.
