COLUMBUS, GA - A few local roads are getting a face-lift, thanks to a new grant from the Georgia Department of Transportation.
The Georgia DOT presented Columbus with a $1.38 million check Wednesday as part of the state's Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program.
The funds will go towards the improvements of Upatoi Lane, Green Island Drive and Woolridge Road.
The money is the city's share of the state's motor fuel tax determined by the county road mileage and population, and it is in addition to the $200 million our area will receive over the next ten years for TSPLOST.
