Washington, D.C. - The Pentagon is expected to make changes in its benefits policy for same-sex couples. The agency will reportedly begin granting same-sex spouses of service members benefits that have been blocked. Those include housing on military bases, military identification cards, and consideration of a same-sex spouse and family in duty assignments. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is expected to make the announcement this week. Panetta's likely replacement Chuck Hagel, says he supports the move.
