COLUMBUS, G - "'Mamma I love you and I am glad you're doing okay.' And he hugged my neck and said 'I'll see you tomorrow,'" Cristy Jones says.

Those were the last words 20-year-old Blake Dozier said to his mother. Jones says she saw her son on Sunday. He was fatally shot at the intersection of 6th Avenue and 32nd Street Monday night.

Officials say they think Blake was walking from his grandmother's apartment on 1st Avenue where he lived to visit a friend when he was shot twice.

"A mother shouldn't have to bury her child, I really hate it. I don't know, I have to keep going because I have two more but I don't know if I have the strength. I am having a nervous breakdown," Jones says.

Blake graduated from Hardaway High School in 2011. He had a job laying tile, and his mother says he was always home by 9 p.m. every night.

"He was always there, he was always punctual. If he told you he was going to do something, he did it," Jones says.

Officials say there were no witnesses. Blake's family says an arrest in the case would help them find some closure.

"If the police find whoever did this, it would help me so much. My son deserves justice for what happened to him," Jones says.

If anyone has any information, you can call Columbus Police at 706-653-3400 or Crime Stoppers at 706-653-3188. You can also send tips online at www.isolvecrime.com.

"If you know anything about this, please call someone and let them know," Jones says.

Blake's family says they are planning a visitation on Thursday and Striffler-Hamby and funeral services on Friday. They say they are also working on setting up a memorial fund at Wells Fargo bank.
