COLUMBUS, GA - A Fort Benning soldier accused of beating a 10-year-old boy pleads not guilty.

27-year-old William Robinson appeared in Recorder's Court Friday morning on three cruelty to children charges.

Officials say Robinson allegedly assaulted the fifth grader multiple times, including allegedly punching the boy in his eyes and allegedly kicking him in the groin, causing severe bruising and swelling.

The abuse was discovered by the boy's mother and he was taken to Saint Francis Hospital for treatment.

Robinson's bond was set at $45,000 dollars.
