CNN (Marietta, GA)-The founder of the world's largest chiropractic college has passed away.
Doctor Sid Williams died Thursday, at the age of 84 from complications with pneumonia.
He began Life University in Marietta, Georgia, in 1974.
Williams was the public face of the university until resigning in 2002, when the schools accreditation was temporarily revoked. His colleagues describe him as one of chiropractic's great champions, working to change the public perception of the practice once dismissed as quackery.
