
Staff Reports (Columbus, GA) The Muscogee County School District employee who was behind the wheel of a school vehicle that struck and killed a pedestrian is now facing charges.
Alfie Johnson is charged with second degree vehicular homicide and failure to maintain his lane.
The 45 year old Johnson was booked into the Muscogee County Jail last Friday and released the same day on bond.
Officials say Johnson was on duty as a security officer the morning of December 15th, when he lost control of his District issued car on Steam Mill Road.
He hit a pack of four pedestrians, seriously injuring one and killing 50 year old Loretta Williams.
Johnson's case was bound over to Superior Court.
