Columbus- It's been a gloomy weather Christmas day across the Chattahoochee Valley.
But not even the bad weather could keep volunteers in our area away to help those in need today.
More than 150 volunteers with the Valley Rescue Mission served up their annual Christmas feast to those who needed it this afternoon.
The holiday meal had all the classic favorites including ham, green beans and mashed potatoes.
The Christmas dinner capped off a season of giving from the Valley Rescue Mission. They also helped give out toys to 1,200 children in our area.
Valley Rescue Mission Executive Director Rhonda Mobley says they wouldn't be able to do their annual feast alone, "Valley Rescue Mission is going into its 50th year of service to the community," Mobley said, "And this is something we look forward to every Thanksgiving and every Christmas to be able to do something like this. And its only because of the support of our community."
Valley Rescue Mission also delivered more meals to the elderly and shut in who couldn't make it out to the day's festivities.
