Camp Buehring, Kuwait- Some troops who are spending the holidays away from Fort Benning are getting into the Christmas spirit in the Middle East.
Earlier today the 3rd ABCT, 3rd Infantry division were given a little bit of Christmas cheer in the desert thanks to some generous donations.
The soldiers unloaded more than 2,000 care packages at Camp Buehring in Kuwait. The packages were sent over courtesy of the group "Soldiers' Angels."
Chamber of Commerce groups from across Georgia and the southeast helped get all the care packages sent over to let the soldiers know they are on our minds during the holidays.
Specialist Malcolm Tabor says, the presents were a nice treat for the troops, "We get presents from our families, wives, spouses, parents, but to get them from people that we don't know is special. It says a lot about the American people and their support for us and we're glad to see it and hope it keeps coming."
Specialist Joseph Eide also weighed in on the Angel Care Packages, "Its going to bring a lot of morale to the table for us cause we need it out here. It brings the Christmas feeling to us too."
The packages were loaded onto cargo containers for shipping to Kuwait back in October to get over seas in time for Christmas.
