By Staff Reports (Columbus, GA)-
Columbus will be joining other cities around the country in a National Memorial for those who were killed in last Friday's Connecticut school massacre.
Mayor Teresa Tomlinson released a statement today saying Columbus will recognize a moment of silence at 9:30 AM this Friday.
That is one week to the minute when it is believed the gunman opened fire killing 26 people including 20 children inside the Sandy Hook Elementary school.
The Mayor is also asking churches to ring their bells 26 times in honor of the victims.
