Troup County-The Mayor of LaGrange teamed up with Troup County leaders to announce a call to action this morning.
The local delegation has an issue with the Army Corp of Engineers and their plan to change the guide curve of West Point Lake. Officials say the draw downs are detrimental to recreational use of the lake and the community's quality of life, especially to those businesses that depend on tourism.
Community leaders say if the new water level mandates take effect the lake will go even lower than it has already. Residents are urged to sign a petition urging the Corp of Engineers to reevaluate their decision and re-establish a guide curve for West Point Lake that matches the congressionally authorized use of the lake.
