By Staff Reports (Phenix City, AL)-
It sounds hard to believe, but one local school evacuated earlier Monday because of a bomb threat.
Classes were evacuated at Central High School today after authorities say someone called the Phenix City Police and issued a threat about 9:30 EST this morning.
Bomb sniffing dogs were brought in and the students were given the all clear to return about an hour and a half later.
Superintendent Larry DiChiara tells NBC 38 that Phenix City police were able to trace the call and made an arrest earlier this afternoon. The suspect is a student at the school and police are continuing to investigate why the student made the call.
