North Highlands Riverwalk closed for dam construction - WLTZ 38 | Columbus Georgia Regional News & Community

COLUMBUS, GA - Parts of the Riverwalk closed Monday as construction continues on the Whitewater project.

The Riverwalk will be closed from the North Highlands Dam south to South Gordon Boulevard while Georgia Power constructs what it calls a "weir."

That smaller dam will regulate water levels for the Georgia Power dam once the City Mills Dam is breached.

The City Mills dam is scheduled to be breached in January.
