COLUMBUS, GA - If you didn't get all your holiday shopping done Friday don't panic, you still have Saturday.
Saturday is the third annual Small Business Saturday and the city is encouraging you to shop locally.
Last year, more than 100 million people shopped at small businesses on the same day.
Kiddie Shoppe owner Rick McKnight says it is beneficial to both the store owners and the shoppers to shop small.
"Local business needs local support more than national business it is critically important and besides it's a lot of fun. We have built relationships with folks, the Kiddie Shoppe has been here for 77 years and we have generations of families that we know and all know their name," McKnight says.
Statistics show 63 cents of every dollar spent at a local business stays in the local economy.
