Rape Suspect Captured in Lee County

Posted: Updated:

Lee County, AL-  On November 19, 2012, the Lee County Sheriff's Office arrested Adam Christopher Clement, of Salem, for one count of Rape in the First Degree.  Clement is currently being held in the Lee County Detention Facility on a hundred thousand dollar bond.

These charges stem from a report made by an Opelika woman on November 15, 2012 stating that she had been forcibly raped by Clement while he was an overnight guest in her home.  Clement is a friend of the victim's roommate who was not home at the time of the sexual assault.

Rape in the First Degree is a class A felony and if Clement is convicted he could be sentenced to a term of life imprisonment or not more than (99) ninety nine years or less than (10) ten years.  A conviction for the charge of Rape in the First Degree also requires the individual to register as a Sex Offender upon being released from incarceration.

If you have any information about this case or any other case please contact Lee County Crime Stoppers at 1-888-522-7847.
