COLUMBUS, GA- Well if you thought cooking for your family for Thanksgiving was tough...imagine feeding an army, literally!
Today Fort Benning began providing Thanksgiving meals for the Soldiers. As you can imagine it takes a lot of food to feed everyone.
They are serving over 8 thousand pounds of turkey, about 3300 pounds of ham, over 2 thousand pounds of collard greens on the side. And can't forget about dessert with over 6 thousand pounds of apples for the classic American pie.
Officers in the 11th Engineer Battalion served the enlisted men for the Battalion's annual Thanksgiving feast.
The 11th Engineer Battalion also played their annual 'Turkey Bowl' game after the dinner which pits the enlisted men against the officers in a football game.
