Columbus, GA- In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the Georgia Emergency Management Agency is highlighting the importance of being prepared.
They held a contest for elementary students to teach this lesson and a local Columbus school was named the winner.
There was an assembly held for the students at Hannan Elementary to name them the winners of the statewide contest.
The students here beat out hundreds of other applicants to win the emergency video category of the contest.
The students also received gift cards for Papa Johns for winning the contest.
