Columbus, GA-  Reaction is still pouring in after Retired Four Star General David Petraeus abruptly resigned as CIA Director late last week.

Revelations one of the most accomplished soldiers in modern history was forced to step down at his new post as a result of an extra marital affair sent shock waves all the way to Fort Benning. The Petraeus affair came to light during an FBI investigation of his email account.

The FBI determined there was no security breach and no criminal activity.
Retired Lt. General Carmen Cavezza spoke with NBC 38 about the fallout.

"Basic common denominator, we're all humans.  We all have our strengths we all have our weaknesses.  I don't think, despite what has happened, I don't see how it could take away from what he has accomplished in the past and its just too significant and history is replete with people who did the same thing.  The issue is what is the impact on all the complicated factors that are around this and how does it impact on that.  I mean you listen to the news and its very confusing.  There's a lot of people trying to tie all this together, I'm just sitting back and listening to see what's going on and coming out of it. I really don't have any idea at this point," Cavezza said.

Petraeus was scheduled to appear before a congressional hearing about the Benghazi Consulate attack that killed four Americans.

It's still up in the air whether or not he will still testify.
