Charlotte, North Carolina (WECT)
Among all the events and ceremonies for Veterans Day, one North Carolina man's Memorial is getting attention for its home made appeal.
Ralph Coleman designed and built life-sized cut outs representing all six branches of the U.S. Military, and proudly displays them on his front lawn.
Coleman is a Veteran himself, having served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War.
The memorial has been popular with Veterans so far... Coleman says some have already come to visit and pay their respects to fellow soldiers and vets.
He also says he hopes the memorial leads to Veterans getting the thanks they deserve.
"All the freedoms you got, you wouldn't have it if it weren't for them. I got a little sign out front I think says what I want to say, you know,
'America, the land of the free, because of the brave. Thank a vet.' And that's what I want to see, people on the news start saying thank you," Coleman said.
