(CNN) - President Obama is set to talk about the economy today, two administration officials said.
The statement will come shortly after 1:00 PM Eastern in the East Room.
It will be a chance for the newly re-elected president to address some of the big issues facing Washington; including staving off the so-called fiscal cliff.
Today's statement also serves to outline the president's priorities moving forward.
We're told he will take no questions.
