
FT. PAYNE, AL- An 18-wheeler crashed into a house at Joe's Truck Stop Wednesday afternoon in Fort Payne.
The truck driver lost control and ran into the home around 12:45 p.m.
Fire crews and other emergency responders were on the scene. The truck driver had to be rescued from the wreckage. Mark Ford with Dekalb Ambulance Service said it was the "most complex" extrication he's seen in 30 years.
The truck driver was responsive and in stable condition. He was taken to Chattanooga by medical helicopter.
His condition is unknown. No one in the house was injured.
In July 2010, a truck carrying hundreds of gallons of Bud Light wrecked at Joe's Truck Stop. The truck driver suffered minor injuries, and it took crews 10 hours to clean up the mess.
