Columbus, GA - A local high school is raising money to help a former student recovering from a near-fatal car accident.
Brittany Meredith, a former Hardaway high school graduate and sophomore at West Georgia College, was driving to an interview near campus when she was struck by another car on August 13th.
She suffered a traumatic head injury and has been in an induced coma ever since.
Brittany is showing signs of improvement and Hardaway High School is holding a benefit this weekend to raise money for her recovery and any future care she may need.
Math teacher Annette Dixon says, "Because she will need round the clock care at the house we are having a musical benefit in honor of this beautiful young lady this Sunday at Hardaway High School. Tickets are $10 now and $10 at the door."
The benefit will feature many different groups like Columbus State University's Genesis Gospel Ministries.
