Auburn, AL - Contract changes are now in effect for Groome Transportation employees that drive the Tiger Transit buses, after employees threatened to go on strike.
More than 30 employees have filed complaints against Groome Transportation and the company's lack of benefits for it's employees.
on Wednesday, Groome announced it would meet the demands of the employees in a written statement, Groome says all employees will receive overtime pay, lower health care plans, three days paid time off per year, and an end-of-the-year bonus.
Managers at Groome Transportation have been in Auburn for the past couple of days, trying to work out the internal issues with its employees. The company says, "It takes its relationship with its employees, and the community it serves very seriously."
The changes in employee policy went into effect on Thursday, Auburn University has signed a six year contract with Groome transportation.
This is the second contract Auburn University has signed with Groome transportation.
