Mobile, AL (WPMI) - Protesters took to the streets at the University of South Alabama today.
They are upset over the shooting death of Gil Collar early Saturday by a campus police officer.
Protesters question why deadly force was used instead of pepper spray, stun gun or a baton.
The 18-year-old freshman had taken LSD at a festival and when he arrived on campus he stripped naked, assaulted several people and showed up at campus police headquarters banging on the door, threatening the officer when he came outside to investigate.
Today, about a dozen students held signs and chanted "don't shoot us." There were a hand full of others who showed support for the officer.
The incident is still under investigation.
