Aflac is kicking off a week long celebration of diversity by honoring some local Olympic heroes.
Today, the insurance giant hosted four members of Fort Benning's Army Marksmanship unit who went represented the U.S. in the London Olympics.
There was a meet and greet before a panel discussion with the Olympians.
We spoke with two-time Olympic gold medal winner Sergeant Vincent Hancock about the day.
Sgt. Hancock said, "We've got a passion for things that we love to do, and we've come to a higher calling of serving in the military but we also want to continue what we did before joining the military which was competing in our Olympic sport. So we're out here to show them a little bit of the hardware we have and just let them know that soldiers are citizens and we're athletes as well."
Aflac CEO Dan Amos introduced the Olympians before the discussion started.
