Juveniles arrested for allegedly stealing a pickup truck

On Sunday, October 7, 2012 the Auburn Police Division arrested two male juveniles, ages 15 and 17, both of Auburn and charged each with Theft of Property 1st Degree. 

Their arrests stem from the investigation of a stolen 2008 Ford F150 pickup truck reported to police early Sunday morning. The owner stated the vehicle was parked at his residence on Summertrees Drive.  Police are also investigating four residential burglaries and several automobile burglaries the two juveniles are believed to have committed over the weekend. 

The burglaries were reported at homes on Brookside Dr., East Veterans Blvd., Camellia Dr., and Summertrees Dr. The pickup truck and some of the property stolen in those burglaries has been recovered. 

Among the items recovered is a handgun and numerous electronic items including laptops, I-Pods and cellular phones. 

The pair was transported to the Lee County Youth Development Center where they are currently being held. 

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are likely.
