Columbus, GA - The embattled Muscogee Department of Family and Child Services is dealt another blow.
According to the Georgia State Department of Human Services, Muscogee County DFCS Director Jose Marrero is stepping down.
The department says Marrero is not suspected of any wrongdoing.
Just last month a years long investigation investigation led to the arrests of intake supervisor Phyllis Mitchell and former acting director Deborah Cobb.
They have been accused of illegally destroying or manipulating child abuse reports to receive federal funding for the department.
Marrero's final day will be October 30th.
