Three killed in robbery suspect chase - WLTZ 38 | Columbus Georgia Regional News & Community

Jefferson County, AL (WBRC) - A police chase in Alabama ended with a deadly crash.

Investigators say the robbery suspect ran a red light and hit a vehicle carrying a man, woman and small child.

All three were pronounced dead on the scene.

A Jefferson County deputy called to join the chase was taken to the hospital after the deputy's vehicle flipped into a ditch.

Police say two robbery suspects fled the scene on foot, running into the woods.  

Helicopters were searching for the suspects.
