The Columbus Consolidated Government will alter or suspend all services on Wednesday, July 4 2012. This is with the exception of emergency services such as fire, police, and ambulance.
Below is the garbage collection schedule for the week of July 4, 2012. Normal garbage and recycling pickup will resume on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
Wednesday, July 4 - Holiday (No Pickup)
Thursday, July 5 - Normal Schedule
Friday, July 6 - Normal Schedule
Other altered or suspended services:
All regular services and normal hours of operation will resume on Thursday, July 5, 2012, with the exception of garbage collection. Normal garbage collection will resume on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
Garbage normally picked up on Wednesday will be picked up on Thursday.
All non-essential government offices will be closed on Wednesday, July 4th, 2012.
City Hall will be closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Public Safety services, including Police, Fire and Communications, will remain on their regular schedules.
Due to the Fourth of July holiday, July City Council meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 24.
The collection of garbage, trash, and recycling in the City of Auburn will be altered during the week of July 2-6, as indicated below.

As a reminder, collection carts and recycled materials must be placed at the curb by 6:00 a.m. on your scheduled collection day. Please avoid placing items on or near mailboxes, utility boxes, utility poles, or other fixed objects. All items should be properly contained or bundled so they do not fall into the street or down storm drains. All carts and collection bins must be removed from the curb by 6:00 a.m. the following day.
The Auburn Public Library will close at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3 for floor maintenance and will remain closed throughout the Fourth of July holiday. The library will reopen on Thursday, July 5 at 9:00 a.m.
Free metered-parking will be available in downtown Auburn on Wednesday, July 4. In addition to on-street parking available throughout downtown, parking can be found on and surrounding the first floor of the Auburn Municipal Parking Deck, accessible from both Gay Street and Tichenor Avenue.
