Ft. Benning, GA - Fort Benning's Ranger Training Brigade is under new leadership.

Colonel Kyle Lear assumed command of the brigade during a ceremony this morning.

He takes the reins from Colonel John King.

Lear is a graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and holds masters degrees in general administration and strategic studies.

He has deployed to Afghanistan and has multiple awards including the Bronze Star and Army Service Ribbon.

Lear is no stranger to Fort Benning and is ready to get started.

Lear says, "Ill tell you, for me, it's not about me obviously it's about this unit and continuing the legacy of producing the best small unit leaders for combat for an army at war."

King has been reassigned to Fort Bragg, North Carolina where he will serve at U.S. Army Forces Command.
