The Columbus Cottonmouths' potential first round opponents for the 2011-12 SPHL playoffs have been narrowed down to either the currently sixth-place Louisiana Ice Gators or seventh-place Mississippi RiverKings. The Cottonmouths, currently tied for second place with the Knoxville Ice Bears, can finish no lower than 3rdplace, and have clinched home-ice advantage for at least round one of the playoffs. The SPHL playoffs will consist of the top eight teams and three, best-of-three series.
If the Snakes face the Louisiana Ice Gators in first-round action, game one will be at Louisiana on Tuesday, March 27 at 8:05 pm ET (7:05 locally.) Game two will be at the Snake Pit Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 and a decisive game three, if necessary, will be at the Snake Pit on Sunday, April 1. Game time is to be determined.
If the Snakes face the Mississippi RiverKings in round one, game one would be at the Snake Pit Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 pm. Game two would be in Mississippi Friday, March 30 at 8:05 ET (7:05 locally.) A decisive game three, if necessary, will be back at the Snake Pit on Sunday, April 1. Sunday's game time has not yet been determined.
The Snakes have three regular season games remaining. They head to Knoxville to face the Ice Bears Thursday, are in Fayetteville Friday and return home for the regular season finale at the Snake Pit Saturday, March 24 at 7:30 pm. It's our annual FanFest, with free food, drinks, music and fun for the whole family beginning at 4 pm. Over 1,000 tshirts will be given away before and during the game. Like every Saturday home game, Happy Hour will take place from 6:30-8 pm with $2 Bud Light draft.
Individual playoff tickets will go on sale to the public Friday, March 23 at 10 a.m. Season ticket holders who have not reserved their playoff packages are reminded to do so by Thursday to guarantee their seat for the playoffs.
