Chelsa didn't always want to be a sports anchor. She had always seen herself as the one getting interviewed after the big game, not the one doing the interviewing.
She was a swimmer at North Carolina State, and had a pretty solid career in other sports in high school. But, unfortunately, she wasn't quite talented enough to become one of the rare "professional" swimmers.
Chelsa cannot play sports anymore, but she does get to do the second best thing, which is covering them for a living. Here in Columbus she gets to cover the best type of sports in the country: SEC Sports.
Chelsa got her start as a sports writer at The News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina. From there she moved to Montgomery to intern in the sports department at WNCF.
Her favorite stories are feature stories, the stories that reach beyond the realm of sports. After all, Everyone is a sports fan deep down, and it's her job to prove it. Chelsa loves doing local stories, so feel free to contact her with any ideas!
