AUBURN - The Office of the Vice President for University Outreach and the Kappa Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority will hold the All In, All Pink event to promote breast cancer awareness on Wednesday, Oct. 26, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Student Center green space.
There will be free food, giveaways, face painting and entertainment. A brief program featuring guest speakers David Barranco, Dr. Brandon Johnson and Dr. Karla Simmons, who will share their stories and expertise, will begin at noon and will end with an All In, All Pink group photo and balloon release at 12:30 p.m. in honor of breast cancer survivors and victims.
"As part of Auburn University Outreach's ongoing commitment to public service, we are excited to partner with Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority and the American Cancer Society to discuss and educate our community on this very important topic," said Royrickers Cook, assistant vice president for Auburn University Outreach. "This is an excellent opportunity to celebrate the survival of many people who have conquered breast cancer and remember those who have lost the battle."
Survival stories and accounts of how breast cancer has impacted members of the community will be shared. In case of rain, the event will be held inside the Student Center.
The Office of Outreach and Alpha Kappa Alpha will partner with the School of Nursing, the Division of Student Affairs, East Alabama Medical Center and the American Cancer Society to provide general information about breast cancer and preventative measures.
