COLUMBUS--The father of a murder suspect pleads not guilty to his own charges this morning.
55-year-old Walter Ragan is charged with making terroristic threats.
Police say he left threatening messages on a family member's voice mail and even called her at work.
Ragan's son, Lonnie Ragan, is charged with the murder of 28-year-old Holly Hearn.
Police say the elder Ragan's threats are connected to the murder. But in court today, the elder Ragan said they were not.
He says they had to do with alleged drug deals.
Walter Ragan is being held in the Muscogee County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
Police also say he has an extensive criminal background that includes conviction for statutory rape, child molestation and terroristic threats.
