Knology and NBC Universal team up for coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympic GamesPRESS RELEASE
Columbus, Ga. (February 8, 2010) – Knology customers will have exclusive featured live and full-event replay content for the 2010 Winter Olympics, and they can access all the video and background information now, before the games start on February 12.
In addition to the more than 835 hours of unprecedented Winter Olympic-themed programming, the most total hours ever for a Winter Olympics and the most live hours ever for a Winter Games, Knology and NBC Universal will showcase advanced technology available to Knology customers through a simple sign-up process at NBCOlympics.com. “By visiting NBCOlympics.com and signing up using a quick and simple one-time process, our customers can view NBC Universal’s exclusive live coverage and full event replays online, all for no extra cost,” Royce Ard, general manager, Knology of Columbus, says. “There will be more than 1,000 combined hours of live coverage and full event replays. And you can start using it today.” The NBCOlympics.com Web site features the Microsoft Silverlight video player with full HD videos and DVR capabilities. That means Knology Internet users can pause, rewind and even save Winter Olympic videos. To sign up for Olympics Online Connect, Knology customers can go to NBCOlympics.com and click on the Olympics Online Connect section of the Web site. Customers will select Knology from a drop down list and then be prompted to enter specific information to validate your Knology subscription. From there a confirmation appears and customers will be able to start watching premium video immediately. “Our partnership with NBC Universal will bring the ultimate Winter Olympics experience to Knology customers throughout the Columbus area,” Ard says. “Our customers can watch the Vancouver Winter Olympic Games on their own terms.
