Woman Accused of Killing Newborn, Turns Herself in to Police

Maria Jones

The woman accused of killing her new born has turned herself in to authorities. According to Montgomery Police Major Huey Thornton, Jennifer Nanetta James turned her self in late last night after being profiled on the local news. Police say after questioning James her charges were upgraded to Capital Murder for the death of her newborn. Last month authorities searched a landfill in Lee County, where they believed evidence of the infant remains could be found. Montgomery Police believed she put the baby in the trash after it was born. She is being held in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
