Talk show guru Oprah made a big announcement today on her show, which will turn a new chapter in her life. She will be airing her last show in September 9Th 2011 after a 25-year run. But Oprah will debut her Cable Network OWN, in January of the same year. We asked our viewers their opinion of Oprah’s final run and this is what they had to say. “Well I just think it’s a lost for women I know she did a lot to further women’s causes and she did a lot of charity work. And I think the world will miss her contribution,” Ann Harbin/Columbus Resident said. Dorothy Easter Scott of Columbus told News 38, “Well I love Oprah’s Show I’ve been watching it for years, I have her magazines. And when I seen that I was like oh my god, what am I going to do now? Because you can always find what ever is going on you can always see it on Oprah and you can read it in her magazine or most of the time you see it on TV, so its going to be like my little where I find stuff out at, she’s going to be gone I’m not going to be able to I’m going to have another source.” “I know that she’s done things over the years that I’ve heard about that she’s done, the most important thing is long is she is following Jesus in everything that she does and that’s the greatest thing,” Jackie Carter/Columbus Resident said. In January, Oprah announced the start of the Discovery Health Channel would be named OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. The network is "a multi-platform media company designed to entertain, inform and inspire people to live their best lives," according to Oprah.com. Harpo Productions has also grown to include Harpo Films. Oprah’s wealth was estimated at around $1 billion by Forbes in 2004. Last year, she topped the Forbes Celebrity 100 list that measures both power and money.
