Enrollment Up At Columbus Tech

Julie Bercik

Good news for Columbus Technical College, student enrollment is up four percent. The school reports an increase of 220 students for the 2009 fiscal year.
CTC credits the increase due to the economy, more people are looking to further their education.
"People are looking for another pathway to work. They're looking for new skills, new education pathways,” said Linn Storey, VP Academic Affairs. “Also locally, our focus on health science careers, we're doing other, new programs that attract people from the hotel/ motel/restaurant management business. That's a brand new program coming up. We try to focus on things our community needs."
The entire technical college system reports an increase in student enrollment.
