Extra Change Can Save a Life

Julie Bercik

Columbus fire and EMS need your help filling the boot.
All this weekend the department is collecting money for Muscular Dystrophy.
All of the money raised stays right here in Columbus, helping adults and children with neuromuscular diseases.
Firefighters started collecting at 9 am Friday, and said donations have been steady.
"It's a very good cause. Everyone thinks that a little of change isn't going to help very much,” said Lt. Chris Rebidue. “But your little bit of change and my little bit of change working together will really put a nice dent in this."
Fill the boot runs thru Sunday.
Firefighters will be at a number of locations, including Piggly Wiggly and Wal-Mart. They collect from 9 a.m.- noon and then again from 1 p.m.- 5 p.m.
The department says thank you in advance for your donation.
