Wal-Mart Helping Americans with Health Care

Maria Jones

Wal-Mart is stepping up to help Americans with health care and working to get the Georgia economy moving again. The Superstore giant is joining CAP (Center for American Progress) and SEIU (Service Employees International Union) to support the health care reform including an employer mandate. Wal-Mart says its embracing President Obama’s bid to overhaul health care. Wal-Mart CEO, Mike Duke said in a letter released today, “Reforming health care is necessary not just to improve the health of all Americans, but also to remove the burden that is crushing America’s businesses and hampering our competitiveness in the global economy.” In Georgia the average family premium costs 9-hundred dollars more because the health care system fails to cover everyone.
