Two Alabama Teens Arrested After Robbery & Police Pursuit

Phenix City Police arrested two teens as the pair robbed a local convenience store. This afternoon the pair was taken into custody in the parking lot of the American Eagle convenience store near the 280-By-Pass. 16-year-old Rashon Jermaine Scott of Opelika and 17-year-old Demettriss Deandra Lewis of Phenix City have been charged with two counts of robbery and theft. According to police they were in a stolen vehicle during the robbery and police pursuit. Officials say after further investigation the teens are also being charged for another robbery that occurred on June 18th at Johns Bread Basket and the theft for the stolen vehicle. Both teens are being charged as Adults under Alabama State Law due to the circumstances and nature of the robberies. They are being held at the Russell County Jail. There were no reports of any injuries during the apprehension of the offenders.
