Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center Delivers New Treatment

The Tidwell Cancer Treatment Center is one of the first in the country to offer a break through in breast cancer treatment.

The Accuboost DV provides image guided radiation therapy.

The machine allows doctors to specifically target the area of treatment, exposing patients to less radiation.

The machine is an upgraded version of what the treatment center already has, it comes with several new features.

"It's even better. There have been some things added that make it more accurate as far as delivery,’ said Dr. Jack Tidwell. “It can deliver twice as fast by having treatment coming from both sides of the breast tissue."

The treatment center said it's excited to deliver new therapy for its patients.

It's one of 21 sites in the U.S. offering the treatment.
