Students Get The Nascar Experience

Columbus Tech welcomes back students with a week of fun activities.

The week kicked off with a free lunch and a concert.

Wednesday students had the opportunity to be a NASCAR driver in Reed Sorensen's old car.

The car was pretty smashed up, so it was turned into a simulator.

When you're in the driver's seat you're actually driving a race, giving you an idea of what it's really like to be on the track.

"The car is interactive to what you do on the program. So if you turn in, the car turns in, if you turn out, the car turns out, hit the gas and brakes; it's just fully interactive,” said Aaron Collins, Road Manager.

The car also has surrounded sound and wrap around screens so drivers can see where they're going.
