Ft. Benning to Celebrate the 4th of July Tomorrow

Set up is underway for the festivities at Fort Benning tomorrow. The base will be celebrating the 4th of July a little early, with an extravaganza on York Field. Festivities kick off at 3pm with food and drink concessions... inflatables and rides for the kids.

“Really excited, we expect around 10,000 people out here tomorrow. So it's going to be a really big event. A lot of things going on, this is something we do every year. This is the third year that we've had a big concert, to go along with it,” said Casey Tinoll, Commercial Sponsorship Program Manager.

The entertainment portion will kick off at 6pm with Katie Ray Davis, followed by Gary Nichols at 7:30. The Commodores will take the stage at 9. A fireworks display will take off after their last music set. in the event of rain, fireworks will be postponed until Sunday at dark. This event is open to the public, and all you need to do is show a photo ID at the gate. No vehicle pass is necessary.
