Investigation into Death of 6-Week-Old Baby

Phenix City police are investigating the death of a baby, found unresponsive at a Second Avenue home. Police say the mother found her 6-week-old unresponsive. Coroner Arthur Sumbry said the infant's body has been sent to the state crime lab in Montgomery. He said the cause of death is uncertain. Sumbry expects to have the results back in a few days.
