Jackie Kuhn has been to almost every third brigade homecoming. She is president of the organization, "Friends of the Sledgehammers." And she is at each redeployment selling shirts. Kuhn says proceeds will go toward supporting the brigade, whether it be an individual soldier… or dividing money among the battalions.

“We just want all of the soldiers to have the money that they need for whatever they deem necessary. My purpose right now is to raise my own children but also to mentor the wives, the girlfriends, the mothers, to be there for all of the soldiers no matter who they are or what battalion they're with. I'm kind of a mom to all of them,” said Jackie.

Kuhn's husband is deputy commander of the brigade. She expects him back from Iraq sometime after Thursday, when three more flights are scheduled to arrive. The seventh wave of about 300 soldiers is scheduled to return around 6:30 tonight.
