t their 2nd Annual Career Launch, many of CTC’s students came prepared with their goals in mind.
“First impressions everything, so if you don’t have the first impression you can’t do nothing. And then if you don’t, if you don’t take your time, prepare yourself in the mind wise and come up here with the right attitude you won’t succeed in life.”
“My sister RN and I actually have some family, friends that work in the medical business, So I decided to pursue that as well.”
“I’m a General Manager, I have been for 6 and ½ years. And right now I’m looking for a career change. And I just came out to find a good job.”
With more than 40 employers and companies on hand, CTC officials are eager to give their students great job opportunities.
“And we have people here, from the Health Care Industry, Law Enforcement, we have insurance companies, we have banking industries temporary agencies.”
Many employers said they were impressed by the students and are strongly considering their applications.
“On my end, I’ve certainly, I’ve seen about 2, 2 to 3, yeah, that I would be interested in following up and giving them a call.”
Columbus Technical College offers nearly 100 programs of study, where students can get their degree, diploma or certificate. And many at today’s Career Launch say, they are looking forward to getting their first job.
Employers said there are plenty of jobs out there, But Student just have to be qualified.
“For the Revenue Special Agent, the Law Enforcement side, it would be two years of or a year of college or a year of previous law enforcement experience and military experience may qualify as well.”
“We have a lot of industrial, production type jobs that are available in Columbus and all of west Georgia and East Alabama.”
